Hållnäs has what many miss - fresh air when you wake.
The large spaces, peace and quiet are that make Hållnäs special. Everywhere around you is a "playground" where you can fish from a pier, explore the woods, pick mushrooms and berries and go skating when the ice is thick. The possi-bilities are endless. Many people who move to Hållnäs take the opportunity to aquire animals, as houses and estates often have both stables and pastures.

There are no large roads with heavy traffic here, nor any large industrial sites. As a family with children you have many requierments - and Hållnäs can fulfill nearly all of them.

In the centre of Hållnäs lies Edvalla village, providing a school, church and all kinds of services. Hållnäs school is small with only about 80 children from grade 1-6. There is also an after-school recreation centre with about 30 children.

The school in Hållnäs is managed by the parents, who command the majority of votes in the local school council. The council also has a headmaster and a teacher as permament members.

On top of teaching basic skills, a concius effort is made to work with the children's self esteem, democratic awareness and social competence. Massage and relaxation is also part of the curriculum.

The beginning of the summer vacation is always celebrated in the beatiful Hållnäs church. The architectural design of this church is rare within the region.
