Nature Reserves
The land of winter
Along the shore lie several of Hållnäs' reserves. Kapplasse, found at Sikhjälma fishing hamlet, is a nature reserve with ancient fields of rubble stone and beautiful boulders left behind after the latest ice age. In the winter strange ice formations are created in the landscape.

From the lighthouse at Sikhjälma you can gaze out across the open sea, and, if the moment is right, experience the harsh nothern wind.

In Februari and March the ice builds up to seven meter high walls and other formations that completely change the character of the shoreline.
