Hållnäs has many ancient monuments consisting of stone: vircles, mounds, ships, and of course runestones. one of the most important monuments lies in Lingnåre village and shows how people lived here during the Viking era. Barknåre and Böle have had permament residents since around 800 AD and the agricultural landscape has not changed much since medieval times, which makes it a monument of national interest.

The ancient monuments here in Hållnäs are unusally well preserved. This is because the agricultural oppurtunites hav always been rathe limited in this rock and stone-filled landscape.

The runestone in Lingnåre is decorated with a text that tells of a man and his two suns Djure and Djurger. The stone at Hammarviken is of a later origin and tells of a son that has been buried.
